Electronics Engineer for Second Source Project in Medical Devices
About the Role In this role, you will lead a 10–12 month project to establish a new second source for PCBA for a medical device product. You are responsible for coordinating with the EMS partner, managing technical matters related to PCB, BOM, and component selection, and ensuring that the boards are qualified properly. You will be a combined project manager and technical specialist, driving the timeline, maintaining internal and external relationships, and serving as the electronics expert in dialogue with the supplier. The team is a small hardware team at Mölnlycke with close collaboration with QA, RA, supplier quality, production, and test systems teams. Your assignment also includes commissioning the board test system at the new supplier, work with alternative components, impact analyses, concessions, and technical investigations related to lifecycle work, production, and field issues. We are looking for someone with solid experience in electronics, PCB/PCBA, electronics production, and supplier-focused development work. You are comfortable reading and handling technical documentation, working with BOMs and component issues, and driving qualification and documentation in a regulated environment. It is a merit if you have experience with Altium, test systems, EMS collaborations, medical devices, or qualification work such as OQ/PQ.
