AI Savvy Android Developer

You know that bit where every company says they're "changing the world"? Yeah, it can feel a little forced. But we like to think our story actually has some realness to it. Our story begins with Shadi Bitar and Ninos Malki, who came to Sweden from Syria as kids and discovered that books could be a bridge - helping them learn the language, understand the culture, and explore new worlds. A thought emerged, what if everyone could have that? And just like that, Nextory was born - your all-access pass to read, listen, and discover new perspectives without limits. And now, we're searching for an AI-savvy Android Developer who's ready to bring stories to life in every user's pocket. Let us tell you about the role 📖 As an Android Developer at Nextory, you'll not only design, build, and refine our Android app. You'll help shape how we leverage AI and agentic ways of working to create smarter, more adaptive user experiences. We believe that the future of software engineering is more about authoring intent than writing lines of code. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and fellow developers to make every interaction feel personalized and inspiring. You'll explore how autonomous systems and human creativity can combine to redefine how stories are discovered, shared, and enjoyed. Your main responsibilities will include: Building and enhancing the Android app's core experiences Owning and evolving key app features, leveraging AI tools and agentic workflows to accelerate development and decision-making Collaborating across teams to understand user needs and deliver elegant, scalable solutions Contributing to a modern development culture where AI agents handle coding and testing, while you focus on experimentation, architecture, and product insights The main character we're looking for 👀 We believe you are a curious and dedicated Android Developer who thrives on creating smooth, high-quality mobile experiences. You take pride in building seamless, performant apps, and you're just as comfortable collaborating with humans as you are working alongside AI-powered tools, agents, and workflows. Furthermore, we believe you have: A relevant educational background in computer science, engineering, or a similar field At least 5 years of experience working as an Android Developer in fast-paced environments Deep knowledge of Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks Experience working with Jetpack Compose, and good knowledge with Coroutines, Flow, and Room for seamless app architecture and data handling The Nextory way of working 🏠 At Nextory, we believe a strong and inclusive culture is key to our success - and that culture flourishes when we meet and collaborate in person as much as possible. That's why we spend the majority of the working time at our beautiful office! We are based in Stockholm, Sweden, with offices in Paris and Bangalore. Our hybrid work policy includes four days in the office and Wednesdays as a work-from-home day. Your next story starts here 💫 We look forward to your application 💫. Applications are reviewed continuously, but please note that due to summer vacations, our response times may be a little longer than usual. We are seeking someone with experience in change management, transformation, and leadership from a larger or complex organization, preferably within finance functions with solid understanding of accounting. You do not need a traditional accounting background and you do not need to come from Big Four. Your experience could equally well come from banking and finance, management consulting, professional services, outsourcing, technology-driven transformation, or other knowledge-intensive service operations. What matters is that you understand how an organization built around people, expertise, customers, and delivery works and that you have the ability to see how it can be developed. We would welcome experience within several of the following areas: Change management and transformation. Leadership and development of other managers. Organizational and process development within finance functions. Digitalization, automation, and AI. Business development and commercial matters. Consulting or service-intensive operations. Implementation of new work methods. Resource and capacity management. Customer development, pricing, or service packaging. Experience within accounting, controlling, bookkeeping, or financial services is a plus. As a Person You are confident, commercially minded, and communicative, with the ability to build trust in an organization with many senior stakeholders. At the same time, you are curious and sufficiently independent to question existing practices and contribute new perspectives. You thrive best when strategy needs to be translated into action and when change needs to be implemented together with people, rather than merely planned. We also believe that you have a genuine interest in how technology, AI, and new business models will impact the future of knowledge and service organizations. We Are Happy to Answer Questions For questions about the position, please contact Marcus Ström at 070-857 50 05 or Andreas Alexander at 073-648 16 23.
