The Department of Disability and Permanent Reduced Work Capacity administers a large number of social insurance benefits, including assistance compensation, sickness and activity benefits, and benefits from the work injury insurance scheme. The Legal Support business area is responsible for reviews, legal proceedings, and close-at-hand legal support. This business area serves as a driving force in the legal quality work of the department. Our legal support activities are carried out at two units, which will now be strengthened with additional colleagues. We are located at multiple sites around the country, and today approximately 20 experienced and dedicated lawyers work with us. Legal Support, Development, and Collaboration Working as a department lawyer within an insurance department involves special responsibility for correct and consistent application of social insurance and other applicable legislation. Based on legal governance, you are responsible for monitoring legal developments within the insurance area where you work. By providing close legal support in administrative law matters to the insurance area's employees and to development activities, you contribute to good legal quality. You support managers and employees on legal matters and share your knowledge. You contribute to good cooperation both within the department and with other departments, including the agency's legal department. As a lawyer, you handle confidential information, which requires high standards for proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you have a strong security awareness. Some positions with us involve participation in security-sensitive activities. To be employed in such a position, a passed security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) is required.
