You are responsible for optimizing vehicle flow through maintenance and washing cycles, while ensuring that our trains are running and meet the highest safety standards. The role is divided into four main areas: Vehicle operation: You maneuver Roslagsbanan's vehicles in varying environments. This includes shunting within the depot area, towing vehicles, and critical test runs after technical work. After completing your training, you will also operate trains in regular service with passengers. Practical technical work: You work hands-on with troubleshooting, repairs, and fault remediation. By ensuring that each vehicle meets applicable safety requirements and documenting work carefully, you directly contribute to safe and punctual service for our passengers. Operational vehicle management: You plan and coordinate the daily flow for preventive and corrective maintenance. By establishing efficient plans for train deployment in service, you maximize fleet utilization and optimize depot processes. System support and coordination: Using tools such as TrainD and Compass, you monitor maintenance needs and resource usage. You serve as a professional link between traffic control, maintenance staff, and cleaning contractors to create seamless operations. Your profile To succeed in this role, you are comfortable making your own decisions in an event-driven environment where safety always comes first. We are looking for someone who has: Technical understanding: Documented technical understanding, for example through secondary-level technical education or previous experience with mechanical work, workshops, or industry. Practical skills: You are comfortable handling tools and performing physical work in a depot environment, such as simple repairs and inspections. System proficiency: You have a good ability to quickly familiarize yourself with and work in complex planning and reporting systems. Meritorious: Experience with similar work within railways, heavy vehicle technology, or logistics management is a major plus. Formal requirements Must be 20 years old (legal requirement for train drivers). Very good knowledge of Swedish (spoken and written). Completed secondary education. Ability to meet the Swedish Transport Agency's health requirements for safety services.
