Research Assistant, Department of Biomolecular and Cellular Medicine

Do you want to contribute to improving people's health? The Department of Laboratory Medicine consists of seven divisions conducting both research and education. The department is committed to advanced research encompassing both basic research and applied research. All divisions work in close collaboration with clinics at Karolinska University Hospital. The Department of Biomolecular and Cellular Medicine (BCM) focuses on the use of modified biomolecules, cells, and cell products as novel therapeutic tools, as well as identifying and studying relevant biomolecular and cellular targets for therapy and diagnostics. The department is also connected to the unit for cell therapy and allogeneic stem cell transplantation (CAST) at Karolinska University Hospital and the Karolinska ATMP Center. The Carlsten group studies natural killer cells (NK cells), with a particular focus on enhancing their therapeutic effect against cancer by modulating their homing, persistence, and tumor targeting. The overall goal is to develop more effective and safer treatment options for cancer patients. The research encompasses both in vitro and in vivo studies and includes the use of cell lines, primary tumor samples, genetically modified immune cells from human donors, and preclinical animal models. Key methods include genetic modification (primarily viral transduction but also CRISPR-based base editing), cloning, PCR and sequencing, flow cytometry, functional in vitro assays (e.g., migration and cytotoxicity assays), and advanced imaging techniques. Preclinical animal models are used to evaluate treatment efficacy and to study cell behavior in vivo, contributing to a better understanding of treatment dynamics and potential safety risks. Several projects are in active translation toward clinical evaluation, enabled by close integration with the clinical unit CAST, where the research leader serves as head of research and development. The group is now seeking a research assistant who wants to contribute to our activities. The project will be conducted at the Department of Biomolecular and Cellular Medicine (BCM), Department of Laboratory Medicine, in the ANA Futura building on Karolinska Institute's campus in Flemingsberg. As a research assistant, you will work with laboratory-based studies, including cloning, genetic modification of cells, cell culture, various in vitro assays, and prepare for and participate in animal experiments. The position offers the opportunity to gain advanced experience in developing innovative cell therapies and unique insights into translating research into clinical application. Who Are You? We seek someone with a strong background in biomedicine and immunology, preferably with experience in mechanistic and interventional research related to cell therapies. Requirements: Master's degree or higher in biotechnology, biomedicine, or related field Practical experience with core laboratory techniques, such as PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, molecular cloning, bacterial transformation, virus production, isolation and culture of cells, viral transduction of primary human immune cells, cellular assays such as flow cytometry and cytotoxicity assays Experience with relevant analysis tools and programs (e.g., Excel, FlowJo, and GraphPad) Strong English skills and independent, structured, and thorough work approach. Junior Technical Manager at Cavendo in Stockholm

If you want to be part of developing the next generation of technical management in a rapidly growing and entrepreneurship-driven real estate company, this is an opportunity for you! Cavendo's ambition is to be a market leader in active property management and is now taking the next step by establishing Technical Management as an integrated business area within the company. As a Junior Technical Manager, you will play a central role in driving value creation in Cavendo's property portfolio by working integrally with our Technical Managers and ensuring that administrative, operational, and coordinating tasks related to property ownership responsibilities, regulatory requirements, maintenance, monitoring, and reporting are executed efficiently. The role is also designed as a development platform for future technical managers within the organization, with the opportunity to gradually take on greater responsibility in investments, procurement, and strategic technical property management. Cavendo's organization is characterized by business-minded efficiency and short decision paths. The position is based in Stockholm. Your Role as Junior Technical Manager You work across our property portfolio—not tied to individual properties—with overall responsibility for ensuring that administrative, operational, and coordinating tasks are performed with high quality and consistency across the entire Stockholm portfolio. The role requires you to drive parallel processes and projects ranging from regulatory requirements and contract administration to energy monitoring and project handovers while creating structure and order. You are the link between technical managers, consultants, authorities, and internal stakeholders. You report to the Asset Manager and work closely with Technical Managers in daily operations. Together, you form a cohesive management team where your contribution is critical to enabling the team to focus on long-term development, operational net optimization, and value creation. The role includes: Coordinating authority inspections, controls, and systematic fire safety work (SBA). Administering contracts, procurements, and supplier follow-up. Serving as the contact point for operations contractors and technical consultants. Responding for data collection, reporting, and quality assurance in management and energy systems. Preparing and quality-assuring documentation for OPEX, energy, and sustainability reports. Driving administrative and analytical monitoring of OPEX and CAPEX budgeting and supporting centralized procurements. Ensuring handover from construction and technical projects to operations: documentation, warranty management, and final inspections. Participating in the development of processes, templates, and procedures for technical property management. Your Profile We are looking for someone who thrives at creating structure in complex processes and who takes equal responsibility for details as for the bigger picture. You are self-driven, analytical, and unpretentious and tackle administrative tasks and strategic questions with the same engagement and thoroughness. You have a natural drive to improve and optimize workflows and enjoy working in a high-paced environment where no two days are the same. You communicate freely with contractors, authorities, and colleagues alike, and quickly build trust through your structured approach and focus on delivery. The role suits you if you are ambitious and development-oriented and have the potential and desire to grow into a Technical Manager role in the long term. Qualifications: University degree in real estate, construction, or engineering. At least 2 years of experience in technical or construction project administration or operations coordination. Strong analytical ability and interest in the relationship between technology, economics, and business value. Good financial understanding and interest in budget monitoring and investment planning. Structured, thorough, and solution-oriented with the ability to manage and drive parallel processes. Good knowledge of MS Office. Fluent in Swedish and English. Driver's license (Category B). Experience with property management systems, energy monitoring tools, and supplier portals is a plus. What We Offer You step into a role where the structure is not yet set—you are part of building it from the ground up. Here you have a unique opportunity to shape both the role and the Technical Management business area. Cavendo is a company where decisions are made close to operations. With 17 employees and a portfolio of 11 billion kronor, you get a combination that is rare: institutional scale and entrepreneurial freedom of action. Your ideas don't meet a long internal process—they meet a decision. For more information, visit our website: Cavendo - Real estate investment management.
