You will work on challenges at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI, including security in AI and machine learning systems, adversarial attacks, privacy-preserving machine learning, secure and distributed learning, detection and handling of attacks against AI-based systems, and the robustness of AI systems operating in dynamic environments and resource-constrained environments. The research will also consider the interplay between AI security and the underlying communication and computing infrastructure. Depending on research direction, application areas may include aviation and other critical infrastructure, where networked systems must operate securely and reliably with real-time requirements. Solid research experience in cybersecurity, particularly in communication network security, distributed systems, real-time systems, or critical infrastructure, is therefore highly relevant for the position. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will primarily conduct research. Teaching may also be part of your responsibilities, but limited to at most one-fifth of your working time.
