The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also manages closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. Regardless of where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create vital change. SiS youth home Folåsa receives school-age girls with psychosocial problems as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our young people/clients toward new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the department's routines function as they should. You play a major role in providing stability and security for our young people/clients, and are responsible for the foundation of daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking and more. You work to help maintain order and security at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and help ensure that our young people/clients receive the safety and security they need to break established patterns of behavior. Together with your team of committed colleagues such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. Working hours are scheduled day, evening and weekend shifts. As a new employee, you will complete SiS basic training lasting 10 weeks. The training combines theory with guided introduction and equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications Your personal suitability is key to vital change. Therefore, you need to have a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a well-founded positive view of people, great empathic ability and an ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues. You should also have: At least 2 years of post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be directed toward social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science or another relevant subject area.* Category B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing It is advantageous if you have: Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., as a correctional officer Security guard training Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., staff at the Detention Unit Education within care and nursing Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young girls etc.) At SiS we value good collegial relationships.
