Operations Manager for Culture and Recreation

As Operations Manager for Culture and Recreation, you will lead four unit managers in your management team and simultaneously participate in the municipality's overarching management group. In Tierp's municipal organization, all managers work based on developmental leadership, which means that you, together with other new managers, participate in a leadership training program that strengthens you in the approach our managers should be characterized by.

DUTIES
As Operations Manager for Culture and Recreation, you are responsible for leading and developing the municipality's culture and recreation activities in an organization undergoing significant change. You work to make the municipality even more attractive to both residents and visitors by creating a broad, inclusive, and relevant range of cultural and recreational activities. The assignment includes working strategically on the long-term development of the operations and simultaneously maintaining the overall picture, quality, and collaboration both within the administration and with other actors in society.
As Operations Manager, you have overall responsibility for budget, personnel, and working environment, leading four unit managers and maintaining close leadership for the administrative group, which works with, among other things, art and culture, tourism, Finnish administrative area, operations development, and association development. The Culture and Recreation operations area consists of approximately 60 employees. Together you drive the operations forward with a focus on quality, collaboration, and a future-oriented culture and recreation offering.
An important part of the role is to continue developing the content of the operations and creating good opportunities for engagement and participation, especially for children and young people. You also contribute to strengthening the local association life and build relationships with both internal and external partners, such as property companies and actors within culture, recreation, and tourism.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with relevant higher education within, for example, culture, social sciences, leadership, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You also have documented management experience leading through other managers, with responsibility for personnel, working environment, finances, and operations development. It is a merit if you have experience working within culture or recreation. It is also desirable if you have worked in a politically governed organization.
As a person, you have a good ability to lead in complex environments and translate strategies into concrete operations. You also have a good ability to communicate effectively and experience collaborating with many different actors, both internally and externally.
