We are seeking a Residential Assistant for the reception and return center in Flen. The center is part of the national reform of asylum reception and the implementation of the EU's migration and asylum pact. The center houses several operations, including applications, asylum assessment, reception, and return activities. About the Center You will work on matters that engage you in a dynamic environment characterized by meeting people from different parts of the world and influenced by what happens in our surrounding world. It is also an environment marked by continuous learning and participation, and through co-location, we have better conditions to work closely together across professions in the asylum process. We are also close to asylum seekers through working where they live. This allows us to work more efficiently and make it safer for the asylum seeker. It is an international environment, both because the center is located near Sweden's border, but also because the agency is more integrated into a common European asylum reception with EU authorities such as Frontex and EUAA. You are expected to be open to using your competence and commitment in various work tasks performed at the center, where service and guidance are key elements. What does a Residential Assistant do in a center operation? As a Residential Assistant, you introduce both adults and children to the accommodation and local community. You provide support, service, and information to individuals in the accommodation and external stakeholders. You handle situations that arise in the accommodation and identify and address any special needs individuals may have. You also participate in coordinating and conducting activities for asylum seekers, sometimes in collaboration with civil society organizations. To ensure that residents have a meaningful stay, they will be offered organized activities, which you as a Residential Assistant may work with on an ongoing basis.
