Department of Plant Biology
About the position
This is a fixed-term substitute position. You will work on projects concerning plant growth and development.
Your responsibilities will include cell and tissue culture, molecular analyses, cloning work, and field work.
The work will be conducted under the supervision of a project leader at the Department of Plant Biology and in collaboration with technical staff in Biocentrum's phytotron.
Your background
You hold at least a PhD in biology with a focus on plant biology or molecular biology, or equivalent knowledge as assessed by the employer as equivalent. You have several years of postdoctoral experience in the same field. You have good knowledge of and practical experience in cultivating cell and tissue cultures of spruce. Experience with other cell and molecular biology work, such as transformation work, as well as management of plants in controlled cultivation environments, is a merit.
You must have good communication skills in both English and Swedish, both written and oral. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities, such as good organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and in a group.

The Department conducts basic and strategic plant biology research on agricultural crops, forest trees, bioenergy crops, and model organisms. The Department is an international workplace and operates at Biocentrum, Ultuna.
