About the position Childbirth care is undergoing major changes to provide pregnant women with good and secure care. At BB Karolinska, we have been working toward modernized care for several years, and now we want more staff to join us in this transition. The goal is "One woman, one midwife," and to achieve this, we need more confident, engaged, and driven midwives. At BB Huddinge, we have approximately 3400 deliveries per year, with operations distributed across three new modern units. Here, pregnant women can, for example, receive pain relief with nitrous oxide in a private bathroom with a bathtub or birthing pool. We also offer water births. At our facility, the pregnant woman and her family are at the center, and we strive to ensure safety and participation throughout the entire care process. At Karolinska Huddinge, we work every day with many exciting patient groups and great diversity. We meet families and colleagues from cultures around the world. We have several unique services for Stockholm and Sweden, including an HIV clinic for pregnant women and a Perinatal Psychiatry Unit where we collaborate cross-professionally with psychiatry. We also have a national assignment in fetal medicine. We were the first to start caseload midwifery, "My Midwife." Since autumn 2020, we have also assisted women who meet the criteria to give birth at home with the support of our midwives. We work in a learning and research-friendly environment with focus on both medical and nursing research. We work based on evidence and place great emphasis on what the pregnant and birthing woman wishes. We are looking for midwives with extensive childbirth experience who can take responsibility for patient safety, quality, and collaboration. As a midwife at BB Huddinge, you will work with pregnant women during the antenatal period, labor, and postpartum care. We work in teams around the birthing women. Tasks are varied. Weekend and evening shifts are included. This position is for a 12-month temporary assignment.
