We are now looking for a personal assistant for a customer who lives in Örebro.
About the job as a personal assistant
As a personal assistant, you work closely with a person with a disability in their daily life. You assist and support the person in everyday activities and leisure time. Your workplace is where the customer is located, and your tasks involve assisting the customer so they have the conditions to live the life they wish.
Tasks
Your responsibilities depend on the customer's needs and lifestyle. The customer enjoys when things move quickly and likes to race around in their wheelchair, so it's important that you as an assistant can keep up with their pace. You accompany the customer on walks and visit playgrounds and other places the customer enjoys. The customer has poor vision and therefore needs your help describing their surroundings; what you and others are doing, preparing for sounds you know might scare them, helping the customer see and experience things together with you. The customer uses their other senses to compensate for their impaired vision: taste, touch, hearing, and smell. The customer sits in a wheelchair that they operate themselves indoors.

We are looking for someone who is responsible, attentive, and learns new tasks easily. It's important that you as an assistant are calm and patient to best help the customer progress in training and development. Just like for you, it takes time for the customer to learn new things, and it's important that you as an assistant have the willingness and patience to provide the customer with the right conditions to succeed with the challenges we take on.
About the employment
We are now looking for a substitute who can work when regular assistants are sick or on leave. Working hours are Monday-Friday 3:00 PM-7:00 PM and Saturday-Sunday 11:00 AM-6:00 PM. You should also be able to work daytime during school breaks and be able to fill in when the customer is sick and home from school to cover the full day.
Salary and other employment terms according to the collective agreement for Personal Assistance, Vårdföretagarna - Kommunal.
