The service technician position is located at Campus Service Medicinareberget, which is part of the Service Unit, where expertise is gathered across various areas. The unit employs approximately 280 people who together provide expert support and deliver services to the entire university. Campus Service is the service organization that ensures local service with consolidated expertise is available across the university's different geographic areas. Campus Medicinareberget encompasses the part of Gothenburg University established at Medicinareberget and consists of Sahlgrenska Academy, adjacent to Sahlgrenska University Hospital, and parts of the Faculty of Science. Staff handle packages and mail, AV technology, facility coordination, transportation of source-separated materials, and planning of internal relocations. Some services are provided to laboratory operations. The facilities consist predominantly of offices and teaching spaces as well as research laboratories. We are now seeking 1 service technician for a temporary position, based at Campus Medicinareberget. Job Responsibilities You will work together with the service coordinator for the area and be a colleague with other staff members at Campus Medicinareberget. As a service technician, you will perform a wide variety of service tasks within Campus Service. Your responsibilities include handling mail and package shipments, assisting departments and other units with advice regarding mail shipments, package handling, and internal mail. General facility inspections. You will perform certain maintenance work in lecture halls and common areas. Tasks may include administration and planning of relocation projects. Your responsibilities also include transporting various shipments and contacting property managers, contractors, and subcontractors. The work is mobile and certain tasks may be physically demanding. Qualifications We are looking for someone with at least upper secondary education. You naturally have experience working in a service-oriented organization. Further experience with case management systems, good computer skills, and strong spoken and written proficiency in both Swedish and English are required. A driver's license is a requirement for this position. You thrive working with service in an environment with high ambition and fast pace where you periodically need to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The work therefore requires flexibility and ongoing prioritization. You should be able to take own initiative and work independently. You should also have a high degree of social competence and the ability to communicate with customers and colleagues in a positive, professional, and clear manner. You enjoy solving problems and coming up with ideas for improvements and implementing them with colleagues. You have a strong sense of service and responsibility, attention to detail, and teamwork skills. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability and the group's composition of diverse competencies. Employment The employment is a temporary position at 100%. Start date January 4 and runs through June 30, 2027, with possible extension. The position is based at Campus Medicinareberget, Service Unit at Gothenburg University.
