We are now seeking a substitute parent advisor due to a planned extended absence of one of our staff members. As a parent advisor, you meet families early in parenthood, often when they have their first child. In close collaboration with, among others, child health centers, preschools, and civil society actors, you contribute to promoting children's mental health. Through conversations and parent groups, you build trust and provide support that creates security and confidence – always with a preventive focus. Children's participation is a central part of our work, and we have several child rights ombudspersons who are responsible for safeguarding children's rights. The Reception Unit for Children and Young People is part of the Social Services and Leisure Department and is located within the Children and Young People Area. The area is led by an area manager and is divided into four units, each with a unit manager. The Reception Unit for Children and Young People consists of two groups with a total of 15 social workers, two group leaders, and an administrative assistant. The unit's staff have a positive attitude toward their work, support each other, and create job satisfaction even in challenging situations. The unit is undergoing exciting changes where, in addition to traditional reception work and rapid investigations, we have introduced several new functions linked to the new Social Services Act and have begun working more proactively and preventively. The unit is also part of First Line Social Services, which is an initiative to get closer to our target groups and offer earlier interventions, and is the first step in a long-term development process for Bromma's social services. Read more about our Employee Benefits - Stockholm City We in the Children and Young People Area in Bromma: • actively participate in the transition to the new Social Services Act. • participate in several collaboration arrangements with internal and external actors, such as healthcare, preschools, and schools. • regularly follow up on your social work environment through "Bromma Conversations". • offer external supervision • opportunities for professional development at both basic and advanced levels Your role In the role of parent advisor, you offer early and preventive interventions to parents with children 0-12 years old with the goal of promoting children's health and creating secure and sustainable life situations. This is done through individual conversations and group conversations. We work from a family-centered approach where we collaborate with, among others, child health services, midwife clinics, open preschools, and other units within social services and the district, associations, and preschools. As a parent advisor, you will: - Strengthen the parental role through conversations and counseling - Lead structured parent groups - Collaborate with colleagues and external actors - Contribute to preventive work for children's mental health. Your competence and experience We are looking for someone who has: • A degree in social work (Socionom) • Current and relevant experience in treatment work within social services • Experience working with children, young people, and families • Documented knowledge of child development and the risk and protective factors that affect children's development. It is advantageous if you have: • Experience in similar work as a family or parent advisor • Training in parental support programs such as ABC or KOMET • Experience with Motivational Interviewing and a solution-focused approach.
