About the position
Are you a confident and experienced leader who enjoys developing operations? We are now seeking an interim operations manager for our client in the public sector with responsibility for an operations area within sports and recreation. In this role, you will have broad responsibility for operations, finances, and personnel while driving development, management by objectives, and change initiatives together with the operations managers and management group. You will become an important key person in the organization and have the opportunity to contribute to both daily operations and long-term development.
This is a full-time consulting assignment starting November 1, 2026 through February 28, 2027, with the possibility of extension.
Examples of responsibilities
Lead and manage seven unit managers as well as administrative support functions.
Have overall responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel.
Drive and develop operations based on established goals and strategies.
Responsible for operations follow-up, analysis, and results reporting.
Lead change and development initiatives within the operations area.
Participate actively in management group work and contribute to the department's collective development.
Ensure effective working methods and good collaboration within the organization.
Responsible for contacts and collaboration with external partners and organizations.
About you
We are seeking a confident, clear, and inspiring leader with the ability to create engagement and participation. You are experienced in leading through other managers and have a strategic approach while being able to switch between operational and long-term issues. As a person, you are communicative, organized, and solution-oriented with a strong holistic perspective. You thrive in change work and are motivated by developing both operations and people.
Qualifications
Several years of experience leading through managers with documented good results.
At least 5 years of experience as a manager with budget and personnel responsibility within public sector operations.
University degree in economics, social sciences, or other education deemed equivalent.
Documented experience in management by objectives and change leadership.
Experience leading and implementing change initiatives in larger organizations.
Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
