Chief Executive Officer
Aiming Executive AB · Full-time
Falkenberg, Sweden
WHO WE ARE A port needs to be able to lift cargo that doesn't fit in a standard container. A salmon producer needs a specially built machine to sort fish. The military needs a trailer that can transport everything from containers to boats. When standard solutions aren't enough, Timars builds something that does. We are a Halland-based industrial company with 28 employees that designs, manufactures, modifies and services primarily large vehicles, trailers, lifting equipment and other custom steel structures. Our customers operate in defense, container handling, industry and transport, and our projects range from ongoing service work to large manufacturing projects that run for several years. Our strength lies in the combination of technical expertise, problem-solving and quality. Many of us have worked at Timars for a long time and there is strong pride in what we build. The culture is down-to-earth and familial, with high ceilings and a natural willingness to help each other when needed. Since 2020, we have a long-term owner in Ambergate with the ambition to build on what has made Timars successful and at the same time create conditions for a larger and more profitable business. Read more at timars.se. THE MISSION Timars has the products, expertise, customers and business opportunities. Now we need to create the structure that allows us to take advantage of them. As our new CEO, you will lead the transition from an entrepreneur-driven small company to a more professionally managed industrial company, without losing the drive that has brought us here. As our new CEO, your first task is to increase profitability in today's business while building a Timars that can grow further in the long term. More specifically, it involves: Getting the entire business to work together At Timars we normally run several different projects in parallel, from smaller customer jobs to large manufacturing projects. Now we need to create a clearer and more unified way to keep the entire chain together: From quotation and preliminary calculation to planning, procurement, production, delivery and follow-up, so that we know in detail what our projects cost, how they're progressing and what we earn from them. Building the organization for the next step We are currently refining roles and responsibilities to build an organization that can support a larger business. You continue that work, create clarity about who is responsible for what, and get sales, construction, procurement, production and finance working well together. Equip Timars for growth When the foundation is in place, there are great opportunities to grow, especially in defense and container handling. You lead the commercial transition by prioritizing which markets and customers we should focus on, developing relationships with customers and partners and creating a good balance between larger projects and more recurring revenue. You report to Ambergate's owner and are based in Falkenberg. WHO YOU ARE You are a confident and experienced industrial leader who enjoys it when there are still things to build and develop. With one foot in production and one in the market, you are used to building organizations where structure and business develop hand in hand. To succeed and thrive with us, you are: CEO from manufacturing industry You have been a CEO before and come from a manufacturing company. You are used to a broad role with responsibility for the entire operation and understand the chain from customer and sales to project, procurement and production. Experience from a smaller company where you yourself needed to be closely involved in several parts of the business is particularly relevant. Business-minded with a handle on the numbers Good financial understanding allows you to manage the business based on profitability, not just revenue. You are used to working with results, budgets, calculations and follow-up and at the same time have a clear customer and market perspective. You can assess which deals, customers and markets are worth investing effort in. Experienced in building structure from the ground up You have yourself developed working methods and processes in a smaller organization where everything wasn't already in place. For you, structure is about making work easier and clearer—not creating more layers. New working methods need to function in daily operations, and you stay with them until they do. Clear and supportive Clear goals, responsibilities and mandates are a natural part of your leadership. You ensure that people know what is expected of them and follow up to ensure that what you have decided actually gets done. At the same time, you give people support and space to grow into their responsibilities and develop their parts of the organization. Listen and communicate as a leader You communicate straight without losing warmth and always listen before making decisions. Then you explain why something needs to be done and bring people with you even when the direction is new. By being present, stable and consistent, you create security even when much is in flux. Down-to-earth for real You feel equally at home at the breakfast table with your colleagues in the workshop as in a business meeting with an international customer. You meet people with the same curiosity and respect regardless of role and have an easy time building trust. AIM'S REFLECTIONS This is a role for a really sharp generalist. Not someone who needs to be best at production, sales or finance, but someone who is good enough at all parts to understand what's required and get the whole thing working. What's exciting about Timars is also what awaits on the other side when the structure is in place: To develop the business, take on larger customers and markets and continue building the company. This is a company with a long history where many have worked for a long time and know both the products and the business in depth. There is pride in Timars and people really enjoy working here. For the next CEO, it's therefore not about coming in and changing everything, but about understanding what's worth preserving, leveraging the experience that already exists and taking the organization forward. We believe this suits you if you are driven both by developing organizations and by building business internationally. And if you thrive in a smaller industrial company where you get to be close to the people, the products and the business. WHAT HAPPENS NOW Do you think this could be your next role? Then we'd love to hear from you. Submit your CV and contact information below. We review applications until September 27.
