We are now recruiting a Chief Operating Officer for the Emergency Clinic in Region Kronoberg! Are you the confident, dedicated, and strategic leader we are looking for? The Emergency Clinic is a regional clinic with approximately 200 employees and operations in both Växjö and Ljungby. The clinic encompasses emergency departments at both hospitals as well as acute care units in Växjö and Ljungby. Several different professional groups work together here in an operation where no two days are alike. The Emergency Clinic can be briefly summarized as the center of events. Here you meet people of all ages and backgrounds, which creates great variety, a fast pace, and places high demands on expertise, collaboration, and the ability to prioritize. At the same time, there is strong commitment to both patients and colleagues and a desire to develop the operation together. The clinic is in an expansive phase with great opportunities for development. Region Kronoberg is making a long-term investment in emergency medicine organization, and the goal is to have around 30 emergency physicians driving and developing the region's emergency departments within a ten-year period. The Emergency Clinic is also an academic emergency clinic with good conditions to continue developing both the quality of care and the clinic's operational methods. RESPONSIBILITIES As Chief Operating Officer, you have overall responsibility for the Emergency Clinic's operations, finances, personnel, work environment, and development. You lead a complex and dynamic operation at two locations and have a strong mandate to influence both direction and working methods. You report to the Hospital Director and are part of the hospital care management team. Your role includes leading and developing the clinic's different operational areas together with a number of dedicated department heads and other key positions. You work closely with the professions to create conditions for safe, patient-secure, and efficient emergency healthcare. Your responsibilities include: • Strategically lead and develop the Emergency Clinic toward set goals • Create conditions for a unified operation at two hospitals and strengthen collaboration between different units and professions • Work long-term on competency supply, staffing, and sustainable work environment • Oversee operational planning, budgets, and follow-up • Lead change and improvement initiatives and development of quality and care processes • Drive the continued development of emergency medicine organization together with employees and other affected operations • Create favorable conditions for the clinic's managers and key personnel to succeed in their assignments • Develop collaboration with other operations within and outside hospital care to create well-functioning care flows • Be a clear, present, and communicative representative for the Emergency Clinic You will have the opportunity to lead a dedicated management team and together create conditions for modern, patient-secure, and sustainable emergency healthcare throughout Kronoberg. You have the ability to inspire, create structure, and lead through others. The role requires both integrity and courage, and you need to be confident in making decisions, prioritizing, and navigating a complex operation where conditions can change rapidly. You have a genuine interest in healthcare and an understanding of the conditions that characterize a complex healthcare operation. You have the ability to build trust with different professions and to create good collaboration between managers, employees, and other stakeholders. We would like to see that you have: • An academic degree, preferably in healthcare • Several years of management experience, preferably with responsibility for both finances and personnel • Experience with change management and development work in a complex organization • Understanding of healthcare governance systems, knowledge-based management, and patient safety work • Experience leading through other managers • Experience collaborating with different professions, labor unions, and other stakeholders It is a merit if you have experience from emergency healthcare or other operations with high tempo, complex care flows, and the need for rapid prioritization. As a person, you are unpretentious, communicative, and relationship-building. You have the ability to create direction and engagement even when the operation faces changes and challenges. You are confident in your leadership while also having the ability to listen to different perspectives and create participation. We place great importance on personal suitability.
