Ministry of Defence announces an open competition for a civil service position Senior Specialist Cybersecurity Policy Coordination Division Cybersecurity Policy Department If you are motivated and passionate, want to learn and acquire new knowledge in the field of cybersecurity policy, we are looking for you in our team! Main job duties: organize the work of the National Cybersecurity Council, ensuring the performance of the council secretariat functions; coordinate the activities of commissions related to the services provided by the Ministry of Defence - the unified state internet traffic exchange point (GLV-IX), as well as centralized protection against denial of service (DDoS) attacks, and fulfill related tasks within the division's scope of competence; ensure the preparation of informational and presentation materials on issues within the department and division's competence; cooperate with other state administration and local government institutions, non-governmental organizations, and private sector representatives in the field of cybersecurity, and, if necessary, participate in their activities; collect and maintain the most current information about developments in cyberspace, as well as evaluate and analyze reports prepared by CERT.LV and other cooperation partners. Requirements for candidates: compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law; compliance with the requirements of Article 9 of the Law "On State Secrets"; academic or second level professional higher education; work experience and preferably experience in state administration; interest and knowledge of Latvia's cybersecurity policy, its challenges, and national cybersecurity governance; good skills in preparing documents, informational materials, and presentations; very good English language skills (knowledge will be tested in the form of a test, minimum 80 points required) - performing job duties requires reviewing documents and correspondence, and preparing materials and documents in English; interest in the field of state defense and NBS tasks; sense of responsibility and accuracy, ability to plan and organize work; ability to work in a team, as well as ability to independently perform assigned tasks; user-level knowledge of MS Office applications. To perform the job duties, the civil servant must independently use a national electronic identification solution, namely eSignature eID.
