The Nature Conservation Agency announces a competition for the position of Senior Expert in the Monitoring and Planning Division of the Nature Conservation Department (1 position for an indefinite period, full-time). Requirements for candidates: Level 2 academic or professional higher education in natural sciences (biology, geography, environmental sciences, geomatics, or a similar field); knowledge and practical experience working with legal acts regulating nature and environmental protection or territorial planning documents; ability to work with state data information systems and large volumes of information at user level; preferred experience working with the Territorial Development Planning Information System (TAPIS); sense of responsibility, ability to think analytically, precision in performing work tasks, and ability to work under high-intensity conditions; good interpersonal, communication, cooperation, and organizational skills; excellent skills in working with office equipment and MS Office software, ability to use graphic programs, preferred skills in working with MicroStation and/or ArcView, AutoCAD; excellent knowledge of the state language; English language knowledge (for document preparation and communication with the agency's cooperation partners); Category B driver's license. Main job responsibilities: organizing the development of nature conservation plans, participation in consultative groups, evaluation of nature conservation plans, supervision and evaluation of species and habitat protection plans; collecting and analyzing information from territorial development planning documents, providing conditions and opinions for the development of planning documents, working with the Territorial Development Planning Information System (TAPIS); supervising the activities of experts in the field of species and habitat protection, evaluating provided opinions and collecting and entering data contained in opinions in the nature data management system "Ozols"; preparing justifications for the establishment of new specially protected natural areas, review of boundaries, zoning or category, as well as re-evaluation; consulting with natural and legal persons on regulatory requirements related to various territorial planning documents; participation in meetings and consultations within the scope of competence, including European Union level nature expert meetings and, if necessary, other international meetings on EU legislation in the field of nature conservation.
