CEO / TECHNICAL OPERATIONS MANAGER AT VÄXJÖ PORTTEKNIK Have you ever thought about wanting to run your own business – but not necessarily take on all the risk that comes with starting from scratch? The company has an established operation with strong customer satisfaction and high technical quality. We are now looking for the person to take over operational responsibility for the business and, together with the owners, develop the company further. This is not a traditional management role where you lead operations from an office. With us, you need to be able to switch between your toolbox and your CEO hat. One moment you're working alongside colleagues at a customer site with installation, service, or troubleshooting of industrial doors. The next moment you're calculating a quote, following up on a project, discussing an investment with the owners, or thinking about who needs to become the company's next employee. In short: you get a company to run – and great opportunities to put your own mark on how it should develop. WORK TASKS Växjö Portteknik has been built with a strong focus on technical quality and satisfied customers, which has been very successful. The next step is to combine this with increased commercial work to create conditions for continued growth. As CEO and technical operations manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operations, but as a small company, you will also be a natural part of the daily operations. You will yourself work in the field with installation, service, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial doors and other equipment. In parallel, you manage the operations, develop customer relationships, work with sales, and ensure that the company is run efficiently and profitably. The organization is not yet fully defined, so an important part of your role will be to create the structure needed for the next stage, from working methods and business systems to recruitment and organizational development. In the role, you will, among other things: Lead and develop daily operations and the company's employees Work operatively yourself with installation, service, troubleshooting, and repair Develop existing customer relationships and actively identify new business opportunities Work with quotes, calculations, planning, invoicing, and follow-up Ensure quality, profitability, and good cost control Further develop the operations' structure and working methods Drive the development of business and order systems as well as other digital working methods Recruit, introduce, and develop new employees as the operation grows Together with owners and the board, set the direction for the company's continued development PERSONAL QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Your current job title is less important to us. You may currently work as a technical manager, service manager, site supervisor, project manager, or senior service technician. Perhaps you already run a small company. Or maybe the thought of doing so has been there for a long time. What matters is the combination of technical expertise, business sense, and entrepreneurial spirit. You enjoy taking responsibility and don't need a detailed job description to see what needs to be done. If something needs solving, you make sure it gets solved. You have the ability to make decisions and thrive in an environment where the path from idea to action is short. Furthermore, you have a genuine technical interest and a strong desire to understand the company's products and solutions in depth. Experience with industrial doors is a merit, but we believe more in the right technical foundation, the right drive, and the ability to learn than in you knowing everything exactly from day one. You are also business-minded and understand the connection between customer benefit, quality, costs, and profitability. You enjoy people, build trust, and see opportunities to develop a customer relationship into new business. To succeed in the long term, you also need to be able to build an organization. As operations grow, you need to be able to create structure, recruit the right people, delegate responsibility, and gradually transition from doing much yourself to leading more people. Above all, we believe you are a person who is energized by the opportunity to build further on the strong platform that exists today to create something bigger. For this position, you must: Have good technical understanding and a genuine technical interest Have experience from technical service, installation, maintenance, mechanics, electrical work, automation, or other related technical work Have the ability and willingness to work practically in the field at customer sites Have experience leading people, projects, or operations Be business-minded and have an understanding of costs, calculations, and profitability Speak and write Swedish fluently and possess a B-level driver's license Experience with industrial doors, loading equipment, or related operations is a merit. Experience in sales, business development, personnel responsibility, or running your own business is also a merit. We will place great emphasis on your personality, your drive, and your ability to take overall responsibility for the operation. ABOUT THE POSITION This is a direct recruitment where you will be employed by Växjö Portteknik AB. You will receive a large mandate to run and develop the operation while the owners are nearby as a sounding board and support. For the right person, the role offers an opportunity to get much of the freedom and influence that comes with running your own business – but within an established company with existing customers, employees, and operations. Växjö Portteknik is today a well-established but small company. What it will be in a few years is partly up to you.
