We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool to grade 9, elementary special education, cultural school, and after-school programs. The administration has 138 municipal elementary schools where almost 47,000 students attend school every day. Job Responsibilities Facilities maintenance and custodial services in the elementary school administration Northeast are organized in four units that carry out facilities maintenance as well as service and repairs at schools and offices in the northeastern parts of Göteborg. Each unit consists of approximately 25–35 facilities maintenance staff and custodians. We are now seeking a custodian who is part of a team based at schools in the area and who wants to help deliver the best service, quality, and development for our students and staff. As a custodian in the elementary school administration, you often work at multiple schools in the area. You work preventatively through regular rounds of facilities and school grounds. In dialogue and cooperation with the school, you prioritize, plan, and complete incoming maintenance and service requests. You have the role of facilities manager and are the school's contact person for matters concerning the school's facilities. Examples of work tasks include assembly work, replacing light sources, minor repairs, recycling management, mail handling, and moving furniture. The work involves heavy lifting. For skilled trades such as plumbing and electrical work, an external contractor is used, which means that as a custodian you do not perform these tasks yourself. Göteborg Stad uses self-service for absence reporting. We use tools from Office365 in our work, primarily email through Outlook, and also Digital Fox, Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, Excel, and Word. Working hours are 07:00 to 15:30 according to schedule. There is also duty on weekends and evenings when tournaments and events are arranged. Qualifications We are looking for someone with secondary education and experience in similar work. The position also involves some administrative work and therefore requires good computer skills. You must be fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have a B driver's license, as driving may occur as part of the job. As a person, you are positive and solution-focused, you take your own initiative and come with new ideas and suggestions for the benefit of the operation. You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. As a person, you are organized and plan your day based on the tasks you have. In addition to cooperation with colleagues, you will also have considerable contact with our coordinator and school staff.
