About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding existing ones, and we are now seeking more staff members. We are the authority responsible for correctional facilities, probation services, remand prisons, and inmate transport. Rosersberg Correctional Facility Rosersberg Correctional Facility is located north of Stockholm and is a security class 2 facility. In addition to correctional beds, there are also a number of remand prison beds. The workplace is characterized by a family-oriented environment where different professional groups work closely together. There are also good commuting options within walking distance to commuter trains as well as access to staff parking. Operations Area Rosersberg is one of the first operational areas to receive facility clients aged 15-17 years. The operational area also conducts remand prison activities for this age group. This replaces previous closed youth care as a deprivation of liberty sentence for children and young people who commit serious crimes. The focus will be on creating safe environments that promote reintegration into society through activities such as schooling, student health services, employment, and recreational activities appropriate to age. Otherwise, the child's rights during sentence enforcement shall be secured in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Through client-centered work, we create meaningful lives in an otherwise adult and security-focused environment. We are now seeking a new Duty Officer for Rosersberg Correctional Facility. Job Responsibilities As Duty Officer, you will, in consultation with the Correctional Inspector, be responsible for security at the facility and operationally lead and allocate daily work tasks with transport and security work as particularly prioritized areas. You are expected to contribute and drive development and change work forward together with managers and colleagues. The Duty Officer is the highest local operational decision-maker outside office hours under the Correctional Director on call. You represent the employer and are a guarantee that the management chain is maintained all the way out to all staff. In the role, you prepare security assessments and monitor daily security work and, if necessary, take measures, create and develop systems for monitoring daily security activities, and ensure that laws, regulations, directives, and security plans are followed. The Duty Officer also handles issues such as various forms of outdoor activities. The role also includes daily assessment of staffing needs and staff scheduling in work. The role also includes otherwise assisting management with the overall security situation, participating in and leading local security morning meetings, and conducting certain exercises on assignment according to an established annual plan. The position involves scheduled working hours Monday–Sunday, with work shifts allocated to both day and night. Qualifications Your personal qualities are crucial. We are looking for someone who has: Approved correctional training Swedish Prison and Probation Service internal training for duty officers Experience working as a duty officer Experience working with the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's administrative support programs (KVR, Heroma, Krita, INTIK) Ability to express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing Experience with staff scheduling We consider it meritorious if you have: Actively worked with workplace health and safety issues and current knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation Training in OC spray and baton Qualified as an instructor in conflict management as well as experience in training and exercise activities Experience actively working with change management Interviews In this recruitment, the selection process begins after the application deadline closes, and interviews will take place October 5-6 at Rosersberg Correctional Facility.
