With us, you'll work through the entire design process and contribute to user-friendly, accessible, and purposeful digital services. About the role Socialstyrelsen is undergoing a digital transformation to strengthen our ability to improve healthcare and social services throughout Sweden. The Digitalization Department plays a central role in this development by managing critical systems and developing modern, secure, and user-centered digital services. As a UX Designer, you work in cross-functional teams to develop and improve our digital solutions. You participate throughout the design process – from mapping and analyzing user needs and behaviors to creating concepts, prototypes, and detailed interaction design. In this role, you plan and conduct UX research, user testing, and measurements. You analyze results and translate them into user journeys, design solutions, and improvement proposals, while also following up on existing solutions to ensure they are user-friendly, accessible, and purposeful. You work in close collaboration with developers, service designers, other design resources, business representatives, and other stakeholders. You plan and drive UX work based on project goals and conditions, and present and justify design choices in a clear and audience-appropriate manner. This role gives you the opportunity to shape solutions from idea to finished service – with a clear public mission and benefit for healthcare and social services. About you To succeed in this role, you need to be user-oriented with a clear focus on creating solutions based on user needs and conditions. You are collaboration-oriented and contribute constructively to the team while valuing different competencies and perspectives. You also need to be communicative and able to explain complex issues and design choices in a clear and audience-appropriate manner. Furthermore, you are self-driven and take responsibility for planning and advancing your work with high quality. We place great importance on your personal qualities. We are looking for you who have Post-secondary education in UX Design, or alternatively other education or experience that the employer considers equivalent Several years of current professional experience as a UX Designer specializing in web and digital interfaces Experience planning and conducting UX research and translating results into user-centered design solutions Experience with requirements analysis in digital service development Good knowledge of digital accessibility and application of relevant regulations and standards, such as the Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Services and WCAG Experience creating and evaluating interactive prototypes using relevant design and user testing tools Basic understanding of web technology and how technical conditions affect digital interface design Experience with UX design for digital services aimed at external users Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish It is a merit if you have UX experience in healthcare or social services Experience working in the public sector, preferably with a government agency Experience combining qualitative and quantitative methods in UX research Experience using analytics tools to evaluate and develop digital services Experience in service design Good to know These positions are permanent, full-time employment, starting with a six-month trial period. You will be based at our office on Västerbroplan in Stockholm, but have the opportunity to work remotely up to two days per week. In spring 2027, we are moving to Solna Strand.
