Do you want to lead and develop the payroll function in a growing Swedish healthcare company? Prima Vård is seeking a Payroll Manager for the Primary Care business unit, who wants to combine leadership and qualified payroll expertise with the development of processes, systems, and new digital working methods. You will have a central role with responsibility for payroll management for approximately 2,000 employees within Prima Vård's largest business unit, Primary Care. You will work closely with the operation's managers in a decentralized organization with clinics across large parts of Sweden. We are looking for someone who is passionate about leadership and employee development and who at the same time sees the opportunities with digitalization, automation, and AI within the payroll field. Do you also recognize yourself in Prima Vård's values—empathetic, engaged, and competent? Then this might be the position for you. Welcome to apply! About the position As Payroll Manager, you will be offered a qualified and development-focused management role in a company characterized by growth, entrepreneurship, and professionalism. You will lead a payroll team of 6 employees in Malmö. The payroll department is responsible for approximately 2,000 salaries within Prima Vård's largest business unit, Primary Care. Payroll processing is done in Agda PS and Prima Vård has collective agreements through Vårdföretagarna. You will have overall responsibility for a quality-assured and efficient payroll process and simultaneously lead the work of continuously developing the function's working methods, processes, and system support. To truly understand the daily operations of our clinics, we see benefit in you maintaining ongoing operational work for a smaller number of companies. An important part of the role is also to provide qualified support to the operation's Regional Managers and Operations Managers. Your main areas of responsibility include: • Lead, coach, and develop the payroll department staff • Ensure a correct, efficient, and quality-assured payroll process • Provide qualified support to Regional Managers and Operations Managers • Ensure that laws, regulations, and collective agreements are followed and that changes are implemented in systems, processes, and organization • Responsibility for salary payments, benefits, and fee payments • Develop and streamline processes, routines, and IT support within the payroll field • Drive continued digitalization and automation and explore the possibilities of AI support within the payroll function • Responsibility for contacts and relationships with, among others, Försäkringskassan, Skatteverket, Collectum, FORA, and SCB, as well as for relevant statistical reporting • Prepare budget, analysis, and information and reconciliations in connection with annual financial statements • Responsibility for vacation year transitions and other recurring processes within the payroll field • Prepare relevant analyses and decision-making materials • Some travel within Sweden will occur. You report to the Business Unit Manager for Primary Care and are located at Prima Vård's main office at Malmö Central Station. Who are you? We are looking for someone with broad experience in qualified and practical payroll work, and who wants to continue working operationally while combining it with leadership and development. You likely have at least five years of relevant experience in the payroll field and a good understanding of the entire payroll process. You have previous experience as a manager or team leader and thrive in a role where you both lead people and develop operations. Education in the payroll field is a merit, but we are open to different educational backgrounds. You could, for example, be a gymnasium economist, have completed a vocational or continuing education training (YH/KY) program, or have a relevant university degree. For us, your experience, skills, and personal suitability are more important than a specific educational pathway. You have a strong interest in how modern payroll and IT systems can contribute to higher quality, more efficient processes, and better support for operations. You have good skills in Excel. Experience with Agda PS as well as project work, digitalization, automation, and/or AI-related development is a merit. You speak Swedish fluently in both speech and writing. As a leader, you are confident, clear, and inclusive. You create engagement and joy at work while giving your employees the conditions to develop and take responsibility. You thrive with a combination of present leadership with structure, quality, and a clear development focus. We also believe you are: • Pedagogical and communicative • Attentive, unpretentious, and trust-building • Development-oriented, initiative-taking, and proactive • Operations and stakeholder-oriented • Analytical and structured • A person with good judgment and high integrity • Driver's license category B is required for the position. The position is a permanent employment at full time with a six-month probationary period. Start date is adjusted by agreement and notice period. In this recruitment, we use occupational psychological tests for candidates who proceed to the interview stage as well as background checks of the final candidate.
