Together with other departments in the city, we create conditions for a competitive, attractive, and long-term sustainable city. Duties City Properties' real estate department is responsible for ensuring the usability of our properties over time with good technical status, sustainability, and satisfied customers. The department is responsible for commissioning maintenance and investment measures, repairs, and ongoing supervision and care of the administration's operational divisions. We have a strategic role within the entire technology and sustainability area, and we develop and monitor technical requirements and guidelines needed in operations and construction, as well as lead and coordinate environmental matters within the administration. We actively work to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and achieve the goals in Gothenburg's Environmental and Climate Program 2021-2030. We are now seeking a Development Manager for Ecological Sustainability. As a development manager, you will be offered independent and exciting work where you are responsible for coordinating and supporting the administration's strategic environmental work at an administration-wide level. Your role will be to drive the administration's systematic environmental work and ensure that City Properties contributes to Gothenburg's environmental goals. You will work closely with the administration's managers to advance this work. Your responsibilities: Coordinate and develop environmental business planning at an administration-wide level. Monitor and report on outcomes regarding goals, plans, and indicators within the area. Responsible for leading and coordinating work with, as well as developing, the administration's environmental management system, in close collaboration with environmental consultants and business developers. Work with strategic environmental issues in close collaboration with the sustainability and technology management group. Lead strategic assignments and projects to strengthen the ecological sustainability dimension, with a specific focus this year on climate adaptation. Serve as recipient and handler of referrals. Coordinate and write service statements to be submitted to the board and relevant referral bodies. Support the administration in developing the administration's processes with particular focus on making ecological sustainability a natural part of the administration's management system. Initiate, plan, and conduct training within your area of responsibility. Qualifications We are looking for you who have relevant higher education with an environmental focus and several years of experience in similar work, preferably in the construction and real estate sector. Experience with implementing an environmental management system and work in a politically governed organization is a merit. You have analytical ability and an understanding of context and the big picture. You also have your own drive and the ability to influence, support, and engage others. This is evident in that you are responsive, flexible, and have good communication skills both verbally and in writing. You have a genuine environmental commitment and are driven by a desire to create sustainable schools, preschools, and residential facilities for Gothenburg residents.
