About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating and expanding, and we are now seeking additional staff members. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is now seeking an investigator for the planning unit for prisons, remand facilities and probation services, with placement in the section for planning prisons and remand facilities. The unit is part of the department for prisons, remand facilities and probation services together with the Capacity Unit and the Prison and Probation Service's service center. The department also organizes core operations. The Planning Unit is responsible for, within the framework of the authority's governance and monitoring model and the department's mandate, developing and continuously ensuring national leadership and governance of operations at prisons, remand facilities and probation services. The unit operates, develops and coordinates the forums that need to exist internally and externally for the department to reach its goals. Additionally, responsibility includes developing, managing and analyzing the effects of quality management structures and quality work. Job Description The main duties involve working with national operational assignments and the authority's processes for operational planning and monitoring. The work involves having coordinating and comprehensive knowledge and quality assuring the matters handled by the department. This occurs in close collaboration with other departments at headquarters and regional offices, particularly the Department for Content and Development which handles content matters for prisons and remand facilities. The position also involves conducting national investigations and leading assignments and performing monitoring within specific areas. To some extent, you may also become involved in matters concerning other areas of responsibility for the section and department. The work involves switching between a strategic and an operational perspective. As changes occur within and outside the department, you contribute to identifying and analyzing matters of strategic importance for well-functioning operations at prisons and remand facilities. The duties involve largely independent work on tasks requiring planning, quality assurance and monitoring as well as preparing reports for decision-making support and handling of consultation responses. We are looking for someone who has: Relevant university or college degree or other education in combination with experience that the Prison and Probation Service deems relevant Experience with qualified investigative work Experience with supervisory assignments Experience coordinating matters between different parts of an organization Experience with planning, analysis and monitoring work Experience working in public service Very good computer skills Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish It is also advantageous to have: Education in investigative work Experience from operational areas within prisons and remand facilities Experience with preparation processes and other administrative processes within planning and monitoring of operations Experience with implementation and change management work Experience preparing reports to support strategic decision-making within agency leadership or other similar organization Familiarity with working based on legal documents and formulations Other Information The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to eliminate the cover letter and replaced it with selection questions that are relevant to the position.
