About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more staff members. Our most important goal is to reduce reoffending – to break the cycle of crime. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for correctional institutions, probation services, remand prisons, and prisoner transport. The position is located within the Analysis and Coordination Section, which is part of the Planning Unit of the Security Department. The section is responsible for, within the framework of the agency's management and follow-up model, developing methods and models for monitoring, analysis, and planning of security work. The section is responsible for coordination within the department and distribution of incoming requests/referrals, as well as for the department's mail and post handling and record keeping. The section is also responsible for extraction and national analysis of reported incidents in the incident reporting system. The section also holds administrative responsibility for the Security Department's IT systems. Job Description As an investigator, your work tasks include collecting and processing information for monitoring the security area and driving development assignments within the field. This includes handling cases, conducting investigations, and preparing decisions. Furthermore, it includes contributing to the preparation of material for implementation and standardization regarding security in the agency. The work is characterized by collaboration with colleagues within the department, with other departments, regions, and external parties. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for the Security Department's recurring planning and follow-up processes, such as the department's work with operational planning and annual reports. This includes acting as support for the Planning Manager in implementing and monitoring activities and assignments linked to the operational plan within the security area. Also included in the work is handling referrals and other requests to the Security Department, as well as other tasks that the Planning Manager deems appropriate within the security area. We are looking for someone who has: Academic education/degree of at least 120 credits corresponding to two years at university/college within areas that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant, or other education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service finds relevant Experience in handling cases, conducting investigations, and preparing decisions Experience in collecting information, processing relevant information, and drawing conclusions Experience in driving, managing, and maintaining processes with multiple stakeholders Experience with collaboration at different organizational levels Ability to independently conduct investigations and write reports Very good data skills and great understanding of the importance of secure information handling Good knowledge of agency management and governance Very strong ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in English It is also considered meritorious to have: Training in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's operations Experience working with security and confidentiality matters Experience in investigation work from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service or another agency Experience with project management or other equivalent leadership assignments Other Information The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to remove the personal letter and replaced it with selection questions that are relevant to the position.
