Subject area for the position: Legal Science with a focus on Public Law
Location: Kalmar
Scope of employment: 100 percent, permanent. Normally, a probationary period applies.

Job Description
The work tasks consist of research, educational planning, teaching and examination in specialized legal science education such as the upcoming law program. Some teaching in other professional education with legal science components may occur.
During the first two years, 50 percent research is included in the position, in year three 30 percent, thereafter according to the applicable work time agreement (currently 20 percent). This means actively conducting research and contributing to the establishment and development of an educational and research environment within legal science.
Travel between the university's two campuses will occur as teaching at both Kalmar and Växjö may be part of the position.
Qualifications
Eligible for appointment as a lecturer is one who has both demonstrated teaching skills and holds a Doctor of Laws degree or has equivalent scientific competence within the relevant subject area.
The position requires that the applicant has documented good collaboration skills both in relation to student groups and colleagues within work teams and in research environments.
Ability to teach in Swedish and English is required.
Assessment Criteria
The assessment criteria for the appointment of a lecturer shall be based on the degree of such skills as are required for eligibility for employment. The assessment of teaching skills shall be given equal care as the assessment of other qualification-based requirements.
Guiding for the assessment of scientific skills are the independence, scope and quality of one's own research. Teaching skills shall have been demonstrated through teaching and relate to both development, planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching, as well as supervision and examination. Teaching skills shall demonstrate a reflective approach to student learning and to one's own teaching role.
When the university appoints new teachers, applicants shall be selected as those who, through a qualitative overall assessment, are deemed to have the best prerequisites for implementing and developing current work tasks and contributing to successful development of the operations.
