The Department of Food and Sport Science, IKI, conducts research, research education, undergraduate education, and collaboration assignments in sport science and food science. Central areas of interest at the department within sport science are coaching/leadership, teaching/learning, and health promotion and performance development. A large part of the department's undergraduate education takes place within the health promotion program, the coaching program, and teacher education in sport and health, but there are also standalone courses and food science education. More information about the department can be found on our website https://www.gu.se/kostvetenskap-idrottsvetenskap Subject Sport Science Subject Description Sport science refers to sport and physical activity from an interdisciplinary perspective and includes the study of the athlete/physically active individual and the development of sport culture in society. This position encompasses sport science with a focus on teacher education in sport and health. Duties This temporary position is suitable for you who want to work with a dynamic and developing field where movement, learning, and health are central. Applicants must have teacher education in sport and health, as well as experience teaching at university/college level. We are looking for someone with strong knowledge in sport and health, preferably with a special focus on subject didactics, instructional planning, and practical implementation of teaching for children and young people. You have an understanding of the historical and contemporary development of the sport subject and can relate teaching to current curriculum documents, research, and various perspectives on sport, physical activity, and health. The position includes varied and stimulating tasks, such as indoor and outdoor instruction, outdoor activities, movement science, anatomy, physiology, motor development, and health perspectives. You also need to be able to plan, implement, and assess both theoretical and practical components, for example seminars, laboratory teaching sequences, practical presentations, and written assignments. We would be pleased if you have knowledge of assessment, equal treatment, and equity. Qualifications Eligibility for employment as a teacher is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance 4 Chapter and University of Gothenburg's employment regulations. Eligible for employment as a university lecturer is someone who has demonstrated pedagogical competence and has completed higher education at an advanced level or has equivalent competence or some other competence that is significant with regard to the subject content and the duties to be included in the position. Applicants must have an educational background in the teacher program in sport and health, and experience teaching at both upper secondary school and university/college level. The applicant is expected to be able to teach in Swedish. Assessment Criteria The applicant's ability to collaborate internally and externally to carry out the described duties will be considered in the assessment of suitability for the position. In this recruitment, the university will primarily consider the applicant who, after an overall assessment, is considered to have the best conditions to implement and develop the above-described duties. Employment The position is a limited-time employment, temporary, part-time with an extent of 50-70%, but no later than 2027-07-30 or until the regular position holder returns to duty.
