Socialförvaltningen Hisingen is now recruiting three (3) youth counselors for two of our youth centers - one for Myntet in Lundby and two for Tuve Fritidsgård. We are a modern leisure activity provider that strives to enable children and young people living on Hisingen to have a rich and meaningful leisure time. We offer a wide range of activities across our different operations tailored to young people's interests, with our focus on ages 10-20 years. At our centers, children and young people from different social classes and cultures meet. We work with a focus on influence and participation, informal learning, and ensuring everyone gets equal space regardless of where you come from or who you are. Our meeting places are characterized by safety and equality where everyone is welcome. We work using KEKS methods including youth-produced activities. Our youth centers offer opportunities for both creative activities, conversations, socializing and more. Responsibilities In your role as a youth counselor, you will work conducting open activities and some targeted activities from a promotion perspective. The work is based at the district's youth centers/meeting places, but some of the activities will also be conducted from other locations such as schools, camps and trips. The entire district is characterized by being a safe youth environment and it is expected that you will be able to work in close cooperation with, among others, social services and schools in the nearby area. You will participate in the district's preventive work and collaborate with safety teams and resource teams at schools. Finally, it is an important part of your role to work and think critically with regards to norms, including LGBTQ issues and human rights. Qualifications You have youth leader education or other post-secondary education that the employer deems equivalent. The promotion perspective is in focus and you are accustomed to communicating at different levels. You enjoy working with children and young people and you inspire and support young people towards their own commitment, responsibility-taking and implementation. You stand firm in your self-perception and you feel confident in being able to help young people who sometimes require patience. You are a secure adult who is social and outgoing, easy to talk to and inspiring for children and young people to want to participate and take responsibility. You have good collaboration skills and are responsive and solution-focused to achieve results. The position places high demands on communication skills to be able to develop work methods together. We will focus on achieving a good staff composition to best meet those we serve. Other Information The recruitment concerns positions for both permanent employment and temporary assignment for one year.
