About the job As a curriculum advisor, you will help create structure and systematic approaches in managing government assignments within the curriculum area and ensure these assignments are completed with high quality. You will also participate in the long-term and systematic work of reviewing curricula, course plans, and subject plans for various school forms, and when needed, identify and propose changes. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to apply and further develop models and methods for creating and developing national governance documents for schools. As part of your duties, you will monitor research on teaching, learning, and curriculum development, stay updated on the school governance system, and follow curriculum reforms in other countries. You will plan and conduct internal training initiatives and seminars related to governance document development. You will contribute to implementing governance documents and follow up on and evaluate how they are applied. As a curriculum advisor, you will prepare materials, write reports, quality review documents, and conduct training initiatives. You will be part of the Unit for Governance Document Development at the Department of Curricula. The unit's mission is to develop relevant and usable governance documents for the school system across all school forms, from preschool to adult education (komvux). The work is conducted in close collaboration with the departments for analysis and school development for purposes such as needs analysis, implementation, and evaluation of governance document development. * * * * * "Here you contribute to developing knowledge-based governance documents together with competent and engaged colleagues. Read more at www.skolverket.se/jobb In this job you should have academic education in pedagogy or another field that Skolverket considers relevant experience working systematically and with evidence-based approaches to curriculum-related issues experience with Swedish and international educational research very strong ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English. It is meritorious if you have very good knowledge of the school governance and accountability system and the role and function of curricula in that system. It is also meritorious to have a research background in areas related to school governance documents, teaching and learning, grades and assessment, education, or related fields. If you have experience with educational work within any school form for younger ages, that is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have current experience with investigative or evaluation work related to the school system—within state, municipal, or other organizations. As a person you need to have good overall perspective and analytical ability take responsibility for your tasks and drive the work forward in a structured and independent manner have good collaboration skills have good pedagogical ability.
