We are looking for more nursing assistants to join our team at ANIVA! Do you thrive in varied work where calm moments alternate with high-paced activity? Do you appreciate teamwork and the feeling of working toward a common goal? Then you might be the person we're looking for. We are seeking someone who, together with your colleagues, wants to help continue developing postoperative and day surgery care at USÖ! With your help, we want to create an attractive workplace with a strong focus on patient safety and a good work environment. We want you to feel pride in being part of ANIVA and what we create together. Our unit is large, and since September 2023 we have provided day surgery and postoperative care in both H-building and O-building. Postoperative care is provided around the clock, every day of the year. Day surgery operations are conducted Monday through Friday. We can offer you varied work within pre- and postoperative care as well as day surgery. We care for patients of all ages with varying care needs. In the O-building, we care for patients who have undergone surgery in general surgery (upper/lower gastro), orthopedics, urology, gynecology, and neurosurgery. In the H-building, we care for patients who have undergone surgery in ear-nose-throat, plastic surgery, jaw, ophthalmology, breast-endocrine, and orthopedics. We offer internal training both on the ward and together with other departments at the ANIVA clinic. Work Tasks As a nursing assistant with us, you will have varied work throughout the patient's perioperative process - from preparation for surgery to safe discharge home. Preoperatively Receive and prepare patients for surgery, which includes both logistics and practical preparations, such as assistance with changing clothes and catheter insertion, as well as reassuring conversations adapted to the patient's age and needs Assist physicians with various procedures, such as nerve blocks (advanced anesthesia), epidurals, and placement of central venous and arterial catheters Postoperatively Participate in patient care during the postoperative phase through monitoring, checks, documentation, and clinical presence Bedside work such as mobilization, toileting, and wound dressing changes Provide patients with support and reassurance during the recovery phase Assist with preparations for discharge, such as dressing changes, dressing, and arranging transportation Development and Competence Participate in the department's development work Mentor and train new colleagues Qualifications We welcome you if you are a trained nursing assistant, regardless of whether you completed the earlier or current program structure. Training in acute care according to the earlier program structure is a merit. Further training in or experience from anesthesia, intensive care, surgery, acute operations, postoperative care, or day surgery is a merit but not a requirement. We prefer that you have a few years of experience as a nursing assistant, preferably with hospital experience. Since we work closely together as a team, we place great importance on personal suitability and social competence. To assess your employability, grades from your healthcare education and proof from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) regarding your protected professional title must be included with your application. About the Position We conduct operations around the clock, year-round. Work hours are primarily day and evening shifts with some weekend duty. The possibility to work occasional night shifts also exists. Does this sound like something for you? Do not hesitate to contact one of us managers if you have questions or concerns!
