When an advanced technical system in production isn't working, it's not enough to simply note that something is wrong. Someone needs to understand why. Is it the electronics, the software, a component, the calibration, or the interaction between multiple parts? Here you'll work with exactly this type of problem-solving. ABOUT THE ROLE As a maintenance engineer, you'll work to ensure that advanced technical systems in production function as they should over time. A central part of the role is troubleshooting: methodically investigating a problem, understanding where the fault lies, and working with others to find the right solution. This means you'll move between several technical areas. One day you might try to determine whether a fault originates in hardware or software, another day assist with calibration, plan a technical intervention, or work hands-on with the equipment. You'll become part of a larger Swedish technical organization within the defense industry that develops and maintains advanced technical systems with high demands on function, quality, and reliability. The environment is characterized by high technical expertise and systems where electronics, software, and mechanics meet. For someone who wants to build broad technical understanding and work with problems that rarely have an obvious solution, there's much to explore. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Troubleshoot technical and electronic systems Analyze faults and identify whether the cause lies in, for example, hardware, software, or the interaction between them Assist with calibration and other technical inspections Plan and follow up on technical interventions Document faults, analyses, and completed actions Collaborate with various technical experts to solve problems When needed, work hands-on with systems, equipment, and components The role thus includes both analysis, collaboration, and hands-on technical work. You'll have the opportunity to get to know the systems in depth and progressively build broad understanding of how they function as a whole. WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO Has a university degree or civil engineering degree in, for example, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering Has at least one year of work experience from a relevant role in, for example, testing, mechanical engineering, production, maintenance, quality, or electronics Has very strong skills in Swedish and English The role is fundamentally about being able to use your technical understanding, ask the right questions, and take a problem from "it doesn't work" to "now we know why and what we should do about it." You therefore enjoy problem-solving and are comfortable learning about technical areas you don't already know. When something isn't working, you work methodically to understand what's happening, while you're happy to get help from people around you. You also thrive in an environment where technical work is teamwork. The problems you encounter can span multiple technical areas, and the solution therefore isn't always found with a single person. ABOUT THE EMPLOYMENT This is a consulting assignment where you'll be employed by Friday and work on assignment for our client. The position is classified within the security clearance category. A prerequisite for employment is therefore that you undergo and are approved for a security vetting in accordance with applicable regulations.
