Job Duties Do you also enjoy working independently and driving? Then this position is for you! We are now strengthening our team with a maintenance engineer for our pavement operations. You will be part of a project team consisting of a project manager, project engineer, and construction manager. As a maintenance engineer, you are the team's eyes on the roads in Stockholm County. You inventory the condition of the road network and assess customer feedback, and your field work provides the basis for the project managers' planning of upcoming year's pavement work. During the pavement season, you work closely with construction managers and our contractors, conduct inspections prior to pavement work, and follow up on completed projects. In Stockholm County, pavement work is conducted mainly at night, which may result in evening work as needed during the season. You have many contacts both internally and externally. To thrive in this position, you need to have great self-motivation. You seek out good solutions and take pride in completing what you start. You will join a unit consisting of project managers, project engineers, and maintenance engineers within road maintenance. We are responsible, among other things, for keeping the road network in good and traffic-safe condition, summer and winter. We also care for natural and cultural environments such as dams, tree-lined avenues, and cultural heritage sites. Our work is characterized by us helping and learning from one another. Qualifications The position requires the ability to communicate and collaborate internally and externally. You have the ability to build up your network, as well as to make your place in a team. You plan your own daily work and drive your assignments forward independently, which requires good initiative and follow-through. You are solution-oriented and find it easy to see opportunities and find ways forward. You are responsible for documenting your work, which requires structure and administrative skills. We are looking for someone who has some years of current and relevant experience with condition assessment of asphalt pavements and current and relevant experience with asphalt pavement laying university or college education in engineering with at least 180 hp (120p) or equivalent work experience that we can assess as equivalent driver's license for passenger cars (B) good Swedish language skills, spoken and written It is a merit if you have experience working according to AB, ABT, and AMA standards and have worked in Office packages. If you have experience working with complex road structures and/or have local knowledge of Stockholm County, that is a plus. An additional plus is if you have knowledge of sampling/laboratory analysis of asphalt. Other Information Placement location is Solna.
