Would you like meaningful work where your calm demeanor and attentiveness make a real difference?
We're now looking for an assistant to join the team supporting a man in his 30s outside Visby.
Our client has autism, moderate intellectual disability, and epilepsy.
Day-to-day life is characterized by a calm, demand-adjusted pace where his daily condition guides activities.
About the Role
As an assistant, you are the client's secure anchor in everyday life. You support him at home, with personal care, and in daily routines.
The client has interests in motor vehicles, music, secondhand items, and coffee breaks, but his daily condition often means he prefers to stay indoors.
Your role is to be there as an attentive support and create a meaningful everyday life at home — for example through movies, iPad, board games, or simply calm moments in the house.
A central part of the work is being attentive to the client's well-being. When stressed or having difficulty expressing himself, he may show strong frustration.
The role therefore requires that you can remain calm, act stably, and guide when the outside world becomes too intense.
Your main responsibilities:
Personal Support: Assistance with personal care, daily routines, and household management.
Activities: Support with shopping, outings, and social situations when his condition allows.
Security & Communication: Create structure, prevent stress, and provide low-affect support.
Who Are You?
We're looking for someone who is stable, responsible, and has a pedagogical outlook. You have genuine patience and the ability to create the structure the client needs to thrive.
Requirements:
Driver's license and access to your own car
Non-smoker.
Comfortable with varying work hours.
Meriting qualifications:
Experience with low-affect behavior (LAB) approach.
Knowledge of autism, intellectual disability, or epilepsy.
Previous experience in personal assistance or care work.
We place great importance on personal suitability and chemistry.
Practical Information
Work hours: Shifts are scheduled as long shifts (08–21), split shifts (08–16 / 16–21), and night shifts (21–08).
Start date: Introduction takes place as soon as possible by agreement.
Application
We welcome your application! Please describe your experience with similar work and explain why you believe you would be a good fit for our team.
