Do you want meaningful work where your calm presence and attentiveness make a real difference?
We are now seeking an assistant for a team supporting a man in his 30s outside Visby.
The client has autism, moderate intellectual disability, and epilepsy.
Daily life is characterized by a calm and adapted pace where his condition determines the activities.
About the Role
As an assistant, you are the client's safe point in everyday life. You support him at home, with personal care, and in daily routines.
The client has interests in vehicles, music, secondhand items, and coffee breaks, but his condition often means he chooses to stay indoors.
Your role is then to be there as an attentive support and create a meaningful daily life at home — for example through movies, iPad, board games, or simply calm moments in the house.
A central part of the work is being alert to the client's wellbeing. When stressed or having difficulty expressing himself, he can show strong frustration.
The role therefore requires you to stay calm, act stably, and guide when the environment becomes too intense.
Your main tasks:
Personal Support: Help with personal care, daily routines, and household management.
Activities: Support with shopping, outings, and social situations when his condition allows.
Security & Communication: Create structure, prevent stress, and provide low-affect support.
Who Are You?
We are looking for someone who is stable, responsible, and has a pedagogical approach. You have genuine patience and the ability to create the structure the client needs to thrive.
Requirements:
Driver's license and access to your own car.
Non-smoker.
Comfortable with varying work hours.
Desirable:
Experience with low-affect behavior management (LAB).
Knowledge of autism, intellectual disability, or epilepsy.
Previous experience in personal assistance or care work.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability and chemistry.
Practical Information
Work Hours: Shifts are scheduled as long shifts (08–21), split shifts (08–16 / 16–21), and night shifts (21–08).
Start Date: Introduction begins as soon as possible by agreement.
Application
We welcome your application! Please describe your experience with similar work and why you believe you would be a good fit for our team.
