Would you like to be part of creating a developmental, safe, and joyful daily experience for children in Kristinehamn municipality? We are now looking for substitute teachers for several of our preschools located outside Kristinehamn town center, such as Bäckhammar, Björneborg, Grunnebacka, and Ölme. We warmly welcome your application! As a substitute teacher with us, you will be booked when regular staff are absent. You should be able to travel to the assigned preschool on short notice. Our preference is that you can work at least two days per week. Of course, we take into consideration if you are a student and during certain periods need to devote more time to your studies. Preschools and after-school programs are governed by school law and curriculum where educational goals and educational philosophy are outlined. All children and students should have influence over their day and be treated with respect. The School Department's area of responsibility includes activities for children from one year old through upper secondary education. The activities include open preschool, preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, after-school programs, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • receive and mark attendance when children and students arrive and leave • lead group meetings and activities • be responsible for various teaching situations • set up and clear meals and receive food deliveries • participate in outdoor activities • encourage and participate in children's play As a substitute teacher, you register yourself in our staffing system when you have availability to work. When we need a substitute at one of our preschools during your available times, you can be booked on short notice for individual shifts or longer-term substitute positions. As a substitute, you are a very valuable asset to us and help cover regular staff absences. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you if you are at least 18 years old, can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish, and have a B driver's license and access to a car. We consider it an advantage if you have: • an ongoing or completed pedagogical education • previous experience working with children and youth • previous experience working with children in need of special support Beyond the above, you are a calm, independent, and responsible person who enjoys meeting both children and guardians. You are skilled at handling different situations in a composed manner and you have the will, interest, and ability to help children in their learning development. We also see that you are a positive person who creates a good atmosphere and works well with others. Taking initiative on your own and being engaged come naturally to you, and you see what you can help with in the activities. We place great importance on personal suitability in this recruitment. Group interviews will be held in the afternoon of October 15, and if you advance, you will need to show the following at the interview: • valid ID from Skatteverket's website www.skatteverket.se (choose Till arbetsgivare and För anställning). If you are not a citizen of Sweden, EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have the right to work in Sweden • approved extract from the Swedish Police criminal records register. The extract, For work in the school system, can be ordered at www.polisen.se and must not be older than six months. Employment form: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer, start: 2026-10-19 or by agreement.
