Our Adapted Primary School with a focus on subject areas (grades 1-9) is part of Stenstalidskolan and operates in the facilities and modules of Hacklehemsscholan. We are organized into six teaching groups, where each group has a teacher and several school resources. The school day is adapted to each student's own circumstances when traditional subjects or breaks become too abstract or complex. We provide tools for each student to influence their own daily life and participate in social community, with a focus on wholeness and security. Goals and content for the subject areas: • Communication: understanding and being understood through speech, signs, pictures, or digital tools • Motor skills: developing body awareness, balance, mobility, and physical well-being • Daily activities: practicing tasks related to one's own daily routine such as eating, hygiene, clothing, and practical household chores • Understanding reality: learning about oneself, one's surroundings, time, space, and daily events • Aesthetic activities: expressing feelings and thoughts through creative work, music, visual art, drama, and movement. Hacklehemsscholan has an after-school program with two departments, one for students up to 11 years old and another for students up to 13 years old. We also provide short-term supervision where older students up to 21 years old can attend before and after school. The schoolyard is spacious and close to both forest and playgrounds. The Adapted Primary School also includes a focus on subjects (grades 1-6) located at Djurgårdsskolan and subjects (grades 7-9) at Södermalmsskolan, where students take a simplified version of all primary school subjects. Groups in both school and after-school programs are small, and we have many staff members who work together with the student at the center. 15 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a substitute school resource with us, you will support and help our students who have intellectual disabilities during their schooling and after-school activities. More specifically, this means helping students navigate various situations, both in their personal development and academic learning. Examples of situations include teaching, hygiene and meal times, as well as after-school activities. The work can be physically demanding and includes elements of care. You are expected to participate in activities such as walks, floor games, and swimming at the swimming pool. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a high school diploma, and we would prefer that you are trained as a youth leader, nursing assistant, or have other pedagogical education. We also welcome you if you are currently pursuing education in this field. Since many of our students have multiple intellectual disabilities, it is advantageous if you have experience with: • Working with children and young people with intellectual disabilities • AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) or TAKK (Sign as Augmentative and Alternative Communication) • Low-affect approaches. In the role of school resource, it is important that you are confident, stable, and controlled in stressful situations that may arise. It is also important that you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances, as things can change quickly with us. The work requires that you are attentive and can adjust your approach, and that you have interest and willingness to help our students. You have a good understanding of students' different capacities to learn. Our students have various types of difficulties, and it is important that you use a low-affect approach and communicate clearly. Good cooperation skills are a quality we consider essential.
