We are seeking a personal assistant for our son, an energetic, curious, and joyful boy with extensive, non-verbal autism. He needs a safe, stable, and experienced person who can create structure, build trust, and help him communicate and develop. Sometimes daily life involves strong emotional expressions and challenging behaviors. In those moments, it's important that you can stay calm, understand behaviors as communication, and work with a low-affect and respectful approach. THE WORK INCLUDES, AMONG OTHER THINGS: support communication and interaction follow established routines and structure support during recovery and manage impressions prevent and manage challenging situations through a low-affect and respectful approach Above all, the work is about the relationship—getting to know our son, understanding his signals, and becoming a person he feels safe with. WHO ARE YOU? This is an assignment that requires experience. You need to have previously worked with people with autism or other extensive disabilities and have a secure foundation in your approach.
