Alma Assistans is a committed company that works in collaboration with clients to provide personalized personal assistance. We work closely with our clients and know that good relationships are the key to well-functioning assistance. We operate throughout Sweden with offices in Uppsala, Jönköping, Ulricehamn, Malmö, Helsingborg, and Växjö. I am a 19-year-old guy who needs extra support in my daily life. I am active and like to stay busy. I live in my own apartment in central Olofström, where there are good bus connections. During school terms, I attend school and after-school programs, where I communicate using pictures. In my free time, I like to be outdoors. My "wheels" have a third wheel so I can get around almost anywhere. I can stand on my feet and train in my standing frame regularly (at least 60 min/day). I really enjoy music. Others might get tired of hearing the same songs over and over again, but familiar music makes me happy and calm. Routines are important to me, and my assistants work systematically throughout the day to create clarity. Since I don't have spoken language, it can sometimes be frustrating. It's important that you see early signs and can redirect me in time. It's important that I know what's going to happen and feel prepared. When people don't understand me, I can become "flash angry" and maybe throw something on the floor or wave my arms around. Then it's important that you as an assistant stay calm and don't get scared. As quickly as I get angry, I become happy again. I always have a trick up my sleeve—I like humor and laughter. Who are you applying for this job? You should preferably enjoy being active while also being able to take it easy. You need to be stable and responsive; it's a merit if you have experience with autism and externalizing behavior. Most importantly, you need to be grounded and have your heart in the right place. Here you have a chance to make a difference for a young guy transitioning into adulthood. Temporary substitute/summer position includes daytime, evening, overnight awake shifts, and weekends. Work hours will be school days Monday to Friday 08:30-19:30, 14:30-21:30, and 21:15-09:10.
