Job Description SiS Youth Home Johannisberg in Kalix is seeking treatment assistants for temporary positions who want to support positive change in young people's lives. SiS Youth Home Johannisberg is a maximum security institution beautifully situated beside the Kalix River next to the quiet residential area of Grytnäs. The institution is in a development and expansion phase with ongoing work to increase staffing and security. Our target group in Kalix is boys aged 16-21 placed under the Closed Youth Care Act and the Care of Young People Act. All work is guided by our core values of Respect, Care, and Clarity. Even as a temporary worker, you will receive comprehensive introduction training and further education in areas such as security, preventing inappropriate influence, conflict management, CPR, and more. As a treatment assistant, you work in a team on a unit alongside competent colleagues who are waiting for you to become part of the team. In daily work, you build secure relationships and motivate our young people toward new and less risky ways of living. You play an important role in providing stability for our young people and form the foundation of daily life with schooling, activities, cooking, and cleaning. As a treatment assistant, you also help maintain security at the institution according to our guidelines and procedures. As a temporary worker, you work as needed. You register your availability in our staffing system Netwic and are booked according to your availability. This way, you create the flexibility you need between work and leisure time. Work shifts you can register for vary from daytime, evening, weekend, and night work. Working as a temporary treatment assistant at SiS provides valuable experience and knowledge for those studying social pedagogy or other post-secondary education in psychology, sociology, or pedagogy for your future career. Qualifications We are looking for someone with the ability to build trusting relationships with our young people. You have a positive view of people and your drive is to work with adolescents. You share our vision of being a place for change. As a person, you relate to others in a responsive and flexible way, while being able to set boundaries and follow decisions made. You are secure, stable, and able to maintain a professional approach even in stressful situations. You work well with others and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues. You must also have: At least 2 years of post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education must be directed toward social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or other relevant subject area.* Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written Good physical capacity *Exceptions to the requirement for at least two years of post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468). For exceptions to be granted, a high school diploma and relevant work experience are required. Diplomas issued in another country must be translated and validated in Sweden through the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).
