Our Department Stroke Unit 85B1 is part of the Neurology Department and cares for patients with suspected or confirmed stroke. The care of stroke patients aims to limit damage following acute cerebral infarction or bleeding. The care staff's task is to monitor and compensate for any loss of function the patient may experience as they recover from their stroke. On Unit 85B1, nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, doctors, speech therapists, and dietitians work together. We work as a team where our different competencies contribute to providing patients with good, safe, and comprehensive care. Several development and research projects are underway to improve care for our patients. National guidelines, riksstroke, form the basis of the unit's work. We care for stroke patients directly through the emergency department according to the "Save the Brain" care pathway. In addition to the care we provide on a daily basis, we place great emphasis on the university hospital's other missions and are responsible, in good cooperation with Uppsala University, for teaching and supervising students during their clinical placement. Within our teaching mission, we have a clinical training unit (KUA) at Unit 85B1. Uppsala University students from the medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, and pharmacy programs come to the KUA. Your Assignment We are now seeking nursing assistants interested in temporary hourly work at our unit. After introduction, you will work both in care teams, as a substitute, and as a resource on the unit. Your Qualifications You are a trained nursing assistant with a diploma from Socialstyrelsen (Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare). Experience from stroke care is a merit. Your Competencies We want you to be confident in your role as a nursing assistant. You are good at collaborating and communicating with different people and are used to managing multiple tasks.
