The Department of Educational Support supports the institution's education at undergraduate and graduate levels as well as contract education. The department is also responsible for admissions and graduation, internationalization and student mobility, student recruitment support, and educational administrative systems such as Ladok and the admissions system NyA, as well as support for the university's quality work in education. We also handle educational information, exam coordination, educational administration, and management of work-based education. Employment Information Employment Type: Intermittent employment Scope: As needed - Availability is very important, so we want you to have a situation that allows you to work with us when we need you. During our exam weeks (5 times/year, where we may need you up to 30h/week), it is especially important that you are available, but we also need you ongoing during the rest of the year (up to 30h/month). Application Deadline: December 10, 2026 Work Location: Västerås Institution/Unit/Department: Department of Educational Support Job Responsibilities As an exam proctor, you are of great importance to the students in the exam hall, which is why we are looking for someone who can create a calm and secure examination environment while ensuring that the process is conducted in a fair and lawful manner. During a work shift, you are responsible for handling writing materials and ensuring that procedures are followed according to MDU's regulations. You maintain good service levels with students and colleagues and prevent cheating. You oversee up to 40 students alone, circulating in the hall for 2-5 hours, sometimes in tiered halls with level differences. Shifts can be intensive during periods when a lot is happening and decisions need to be made quickly. However, most of the shift consists of monitoring in the exam hall, where it is important to maintain attention and be willing to act if a situation arises. It is a requirement that you as an exam proctor follow instructions and regulations and apply the provisions they entail in the exam situation. As an exam proctor, you have responsibility and many independent tasks at the same time. We sometimes work in teams with up to 160 students, where everyone has a clear role during the workday, which makes cooperation and communication of utmost importance. We also conduct an increasing number of digital exams, so we expect you to feel comfortable with computers and be able to do basic troubleshooting, such as finding network connections, uninstalling and installing programs. Examples of work tasks in the exam hall include: - seating students, - reading exam hall rules (in Swedish and English), - distributing and collecting writing materials, - conducting ID verification and turning away unauthorized students, - maintaining order in the hall to provide students with the conditions to take the exam according to the university's regulations and guidelines. Please note that you cannot work as an exam proctor if you are a student at MDU. Qualifications You must be at least 18 years old, You must have at least a passing grade at gymnasium level in Swedish and English, You can communicate well in Swedish and English, You have experience with data handling, program installation/uninstallation, etc., You are able to walk around an exam hall for 5 hours. A test will be conducted that demonstrates theoretical knowledge and computer skills. Meritorious - Experience working in a school environment, - Experience with administrative work, - Experience instructing others.
