Technical Project Manager – Maintenance and Development at Kolmården
Kolmårdens Djurpark AB · Full-time
Kolmården, Sweden
Do you want to work with technical projects in an unusual and inspiring environment where a wildlife park, amusement rides, and facilities converge? We are now seeking a technical project manager who wants to take responsibility for maintenance, renovations, and development of our facility. About the role As a technical project manager, you will have a central role in managing and developing the park's buildings, facilities, and technical environments. You will primarily lead projects within maintenance, renovations, and expansions, though smaller new construction projects may also occur. Within the business area, there is also another project manager who works with larger new construction and maintenance projects. The two project manager roles collaborate closely in daily work. The position also includes overall responsibility for the wildlife park's maintenance plan for existing facilities. You will work both strategically and operationally, from long-term planning, budgeting, and procurement to implementation, follow-up, and handover. Operations are conducted in a public and lively environment with high demands for safety, accessibility, and consideration for animals, guests, and employees. This means that projects need to be planned and executed in close collaboration with various parts of the organization. Your main responsibilities • Plan, lead, and follow up on projects within maintenance, renovations, and expansions. • Take responsibility for smaller new construction projects. • Establish, develop, and continuously update the park's long-term maintenance plan. • Prepare project plans, budgets, timelines, cost estimates, and decision-making materials. • Conduct procurement and coordinate contractors, consultants, and suppliers. • Follow up on project economics, quality, work environment, safety, and timeline. • Ensure that documentation, drawings, and technical materials are kept up to date. • Work systematically in digital project and facility management systems. • Collaborate with various departments in the business to translate their needs into feasible technical solutions. • Contribute to the development of routines, working methods, and systems for efficient and sustainable long-term facility management. About you To succeed in this role, you need to be structured, solution-oriented, and experienced in managing multiple activities simultaneously. You can switch between long-term planning and practical issues that need to be solved here and now. You enjoy many contact points and find it easy to collaborate with both business employees and consultants, contractors, and authorities. You communicate clearly, take responsibility for the whole picture, and drive projects forward while considering quality, economics, safety, and business needs. Since the work is conducted in an environment with animals and many visitors, you need to have good judgment and an understanding that projects sometimes require special planning, flexibility, and care. We are looking for someone who • Has relevant education and experience in project management, construction, real estate, installation, engineering, or a corresponding field. • Has training in Work Environment Coordination, such as BAS-P or BAS-U. • Has experience with contract law, procurement, and relevant regulatory requirements. • Has experience with maintenance planning and preferably with long-term investment planning. • Has good financial understanding and experience with budgeting, cost estimation, and financial follow-up. • Communicates well in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. • Holds a valid driver's license (category B). It is a merit if you have experience with: • Work in public, security-classified, or mission-critical environments. • Projects within tourism, wildlife parks, amusement parks, or similar operations. • Energy, environmental, or sustainability work within the real estate sector. • CAD, BIM, digital drawing archives, or other technical documentation systems. What we offer With us, you will get a varied and developmental role in an operation like no other. You will have the opportunity to influence how our buildings and facilities are managed and developed – while contributing to a safe, sustainable, and attractive environment for animals, guests, and employees. You will become part of the Arena business area, which is responsible for safe and attractive operation of facilities and attractions, technical infrastructure, park environment, and construction and development projects.
