Teacher of Wood and Metal Crafts, Grades 4-9

For us, continuous, clear feedback to students and guardians is essential, and you see it as a natural part of your teaching. In this feedback, you provide information about both progress and areas for development and improvement. We are seeking a certified teacher for grades 4-6 with qualification in wood and metal crafts who wants to teach students in an international work environment. It is an asset if you are certified to teach up to grade 9. You meet your students' needs and as a mentor to 16 students, you strive for each student to reach their full potential, regardless of their background. You have a positive view of people, are a team player, and have the ability to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. The language of instruction in wood and metal crafts is Swedish, but strong English language skills are a requirement as many staff members are English speakers.
About the Job:
The job description includes, in addition to typical teaching duties such as planning, instruction, grading, and follow-up, also mentorship for students in one of the classes you teach. You need to be available for meetings with guardians, students, and colleagues and actively work to uphold IES values and vision. Our focus is on learning and a calm environment where school routines and rules are followed by both students and staff. A pleasant atmosphere and good collaborative climate are key to our success. This is also the foundation for creating a thread that guides and supports our students through their school years and helps them reach their goals. Wood and metal crafts are taught in half-class groups in a fully equipped crafts room dedicated to the subject.
