System Tester for SLU's IT Department

Do you want to contribute to the development of digital solutions that support research and environmental analysis? Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and interested in quality work in complex system environments? Then you'll thrive with us. Who are you? We're looking for a system tester who wants to help ensure the quality of SLU's digital systems for research and environmental analysis, and who can also contribute to other IT projects as needed. You will work in agile teams together with project and operations managers, system developers, and business experts to ensure that our solutions meet requirements for functionality, usability, and stability. Who are we? Software Development and Operations is a unit with about 20 developers and testers. Most of the unit works at Campus Ultuna in Uppsala, but we also have employees in Alnarp and Umeå. We work in agile teams with a strong focus on our users, and we frequently share experiences and expertise across team boundaries. What will you do with us? Plan, execute, and document system, integration, and acceptance tests. Design test cases and test scenarios based on business requirements and needs. Contribute to the development of test methods, test processes, and quality work. Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests to ensure quality and stability in our systems. We're looking for someone who has: Post-secondary education in IT, computer science, or another relevant field, or equivalent experience. Experience with system testing and quality assurance of IT systems. Basic experience with test automation or programming. Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English. A solution-oriented approach and willingness to help where needed. It's a merit if you have: Understanding of GDPR, information security, and data protection. Knowledge of databases and data flows. Experience from research-related activities, environmental analysis, or biodiversity work. You as a person: You are detail-oriented, analytical, and quality-conscious. You work in a structured way, have critical thinking skills, and are good at communicating test results and improvement suggestions clearly. You're relationship-building and skilled at collaborating with developers, operations managers, and business experts. We place great importance on personal suitability.
