About Us The Department of Digitalization and IT is the university's support for IT matters and works to ensure we have a modern and cost-effective IT environment. By IT environment, we mean both workplaces for staff and students, technical infrastructure, and effective IT support for education and research. The Department of Digitalization and IT is responsible for both operational and administrative IT and provides support to all employees at the university and, to some extent, to students. The department consists of approximately 45 employees distributed among the units IT Service, Operations Infrastructure and Systems Development, and Digital Governance and Development. This position is placed within the Operations Infrastructure and Systems Development unit. Responsibilities With us, you will have a central role in the operation, maintenance, and further development of the university's network infrastructure. The work includes advanced troubleshooting, incident and problem management, configuration and changes in the network environment, and security improvement measures. You are expected to be able to take independent responsibility from analysis and planning through implementation, documentation, and follow-up, as well as provide technical advice in projects and change management work. Qualifications We are looking for you who have: - Current experience in operation, configuration, and further development of network infrastructure in a larger organization - In-depth knowledge of routing, switching, VLAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, wireless networks, and network segmentation - Experience with advanced troubleshooting, analysis, and management of network-related incidents and problems - Good understanding of network security, access control, firewalls, logging, monitoring, and secure administrative practices - Experience with structured change management, technical documentation, and work in production-critical environments - Ability to independently plan and implement technical changes and collaborate with colleagues, operations, and external suppliers - CCNA certification It is advantageous if you have experience: - Working with NGFW firewalls such as Cisco FirePower or Palo Alto - Planning, operating, and executing WiFi-related projects - Working in environments with high requirements for information security, traceability, and authorization control - Working in complex technical environments with high availability requirements and collaboration between multiple systems, organizations, or suppliers - Working in university, college, research, or other academic operations - Network analysis and troubleshooting tools You are confident in your competence and can make well-founded technical assessments even when conditions are complex. You work in a structured manner, take responsibility for the whole, and alternate between operational problem-solving and long-term development. You enjoy sharing your knowledge, contribute to common working methods, and can explain technical issues clearly to different audiences. The work takes place in close collaboration with colleagues, users, and other parts of the organization. We are looking for you who are responsible, quality-conscious, and solution-focused. You have a professional demeanor, good communication skills, and can prioritize and make decisions within your area of responsibility. Great weight is placed on personal suitability.
