Your New Workplace CFL (Center for Multilingual Learning) is part of the Department for Children and Education in Sundsvalls Municipality. Our activities work to ensure that students receive instruction in their mother tongue and study guidance in their strongest school language. How You Contribute in This Role We are currently looking for a study guide in Japanese. This is a fixed-term position at 20%, extending until 261231. Based on the needs of our activities, the position may possibly be extended as a fixed-term or permanent employment. The employment rate may change over time because our activities are based on a changing student population. As a study guide, you work at the schools and support students who do not yet have sufficient knowledge of the Swedish language and who have Japanese as their strongest language in various school subjects. As a study guide, you work closely with subject teachers at different schools, and you will be part of a team with colleagues at CFL who meet regularly at pedagogical conferences and study days. Your Competence and Experience You have Japanese as your native language and have good knowledge of it. You need to be able to certify that you also possess good knowledge of the Swedish language (equivalent to a passing secondary school grade in Swedish 2 or Swedish as a Second Language 2). We are looking for someone who can provide study guidance in several different subjects (most applications we receive are for mathematics, social studies, and science) up to year 9. You have a Swedish or foreign and validated teaching credential, or alternatively other education and experience that the employer deems relevant, and you have experience working with children and students. You have good IT skills and feel comfortable handling various digital systems. As a person, you are a relationship builder and have an ability to create good relationships with both students, guardians, colleagues, and teachers at the schools. You are good at collaborating, curious, and want to develop and be developed. We are looking for someone who is flexible and has strong collaboration skills, you are a good listener and can communicate and handle different situations in a constructive manner. You should have a high level of service and social competence. We would prefer that you have a driver's license. Study guidance takes place on-site at the schools.
