Within the Children and Education Administration, our approximately 3,000 employees work with around 14,000 children and students at more than 100 preschools and schools throughout the municipality every day. Your New Workplace CFL (Center for Multilingual Learning) is part of the Children and Education Administration in Sundsvall Municipality. Our operation ensures that students receive instruction in their native language and study support in their strongest school language. How You Will Contribute in This Role We are currently seeking a study mentor in English. This is a fixed-term position running through 261231. Depending on operational needs, the position may potentially be extended as a fixed-term or permanent role. The employment rate may change over time, as our operation depends on a changing student base. As a study mentor, you will work at schools and support students who do not yet have sufficient knowledge of the Swedish language and whose strongest language is English, across various school subjects. As a study mentor, you will work closely with subject teachers at different schools and will be part of a team with CFL colleagues who meet regularly at pedagogical conferences and professional development days. Your Competence and Experience English is your native language and you have strong knowledge of it. You need to be able to verify that you also have good knowledge of the Swedish language (equivalent to a passing upper secondary school grade in Swedish 2 or Swedish as a Second Language 2). We are looking for someone who can provide study support in multiple subjects (most applications we receive concern mathematics, social studies, and natural sciences) up to grade 9. You hold a Swedish or a validated foreign teaching credential, or alternatively have other education and experience that the employer considers relevant, and you have experience working with children and students. You have strong IT skills and feel comfortable managing various digital systems. We are looking for someone who is flexible and has strong collaboration abilities, listens well, and can communicate and handle different situations in a constructive manner. You should have a high level of service and social competence. We would appreciate it if you have a valid driver's license. Study support takes place on-site at schools.
