In this role, you will be part of the Children and Education Sector. For us, children's and young people's development is in focus. We work with education from preschool to upper secondary school and we strive for a comprehensive pedagogical approach from ages 1 to 20. Together with seven other career and study counselors, you will be part of Skövde municipality's child and student welfare. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The career and study counselor is an important function for students to make conscious and well-founded choices. Individual counseling sessions, group meetings, and class information are the foundation of contact with students. You will also support principals and teaching teams in the work of career and study guidance as a whole school responsibility. You are part of the school's student welfare team and contribute to systematic quality work. The work also involves contact with guardians, representatives of business and industry, other educational institutions, external community actors, and other school staff. As a career and study counselor in Skövde municipality, you belong to the central child and student welfare and have a unit manager as your immediate supervisor. The daily work is led by the principal and carried out at the school where you are placed. We offer a permanent employment with initial placement at upper secondary school. It may also be relevant to fill a temporary substitute position of approximately one year in connection with the recruitment. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have a career and study counselor degree and experience in the profession. You are structured, flexible, and have an easy way of building trust in interactions with others. You have a drive to learn and find new ways, you have high digital and administrative competence. You use your engagement to motivate people you meet in your work. In conversations, you have a coaching approach and have great confidence in the individual's own ability to find solutions. You express yourself well in speech and writing and have good knowledge of the Swedish education system. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. A driver's license is desirable. Employment form: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-09-28. Start date by agreement, preferably as soon as possible. To begin working in preschool, school, after-school care, and other educational activities, you are required to show an extract from the criminal record register. The extract is valid for one year and is ordered from the Swedish Police Authority www.polisen.se.
